Ten completed jobs in Milan, and almost none of them were about making a house grand. Review timelines, inspection scheduling and utility contacts all depend on which side the parcel sits on, and the difference can move a start date by weeks. - Confirm the parcel’s county and municipality first, then pull setbacks, lot coverage and easement lines before anything gets drawn.
- City lots downtown were platted narrow, so a side addition usually loses to a rear one on the setback math alone.
- Older ranches often run a hundred-amp service. A new bath and a kitchen circuit load can push the panel past what is left.
- Sanitary sewer serves most of the city while properties outside it are on septic, which changes what adding a fixture requires.
